The memoir first appeared in Arabic in 2025 as Zil Alfikra. It returns in an expanded Arabic edition, and in English as If This Child Lives, under a title that carries the same idea and honours his mother's struggle.صدرت السيرة أولا بالعربية عام 2025 بعنوان ظل الفكرة. وتعود في طبعة عربية موسعة، وبالإنجليزية بعنوان If This Child Lives، وهو عنوان يحمل الفكرة نفسها ويعترف بكفاح الأم.

Memory of al-Ishash: a city told by its peopleذاكرة العشش: مدينة يرويها أهلها

A documentary series that preserves the history of Khartoum's al-Ishash neighbourhood in the voices of those who lived it. The narrator, Ibrahim Ali "Mastara", opens the volume with a correction: al-Ishash was not an unplanned settlement, as many assume, but a neighbourhood laid out in six squares, settled by its people on 15 October 1955 after years as dockside porters. Its residents built clubs, a school and a mosque through collective effort, long before the state arrived, and carried the neighbourhood with them through three relocations.سلسلة توثيقية تحفظ تاريخ حي العشش في الخرطوم بأصوات من عاشوه. يفتتح الراوي الأستاذ إبراهيم علي "مسطرة" المجلد بتصحيح: العشش لم تكن عشوائية كما يظن كثيرون، بل حي مخطط بستة مربعات، رحل إليه أهله في الخامس عشر من أكتوبر 1955 بعد سنوات عملوا فيها في الأسكلا. بنى أهله الأندية والمدرسة والمسجد بالجهد الذاتي قبل وصول الدولة، وحملوا الحي معهم عبر ثلاثة ترحيلات.
